Construction Series

What I love about industrial and construction materials is the structural element of it. The way and reason it is used in the industry and the impression it gives regarding the weight of it all. These pieces illustrate this material’s strength while juxtaposing its fragility with a paper thin quality. With stretching this material to its thinnest degree, there’s something elegant in its fragility. I want to emphasize this structural necessity in the form as well as emphasize the physical line created. Adding color like graffiti on concrete or the lines on the road, I want to make the viewer move, changing his viewpoint from around the room.

It’s an interesting thought to think that mankind spends so much time, money and material developing, building and fixing our road system. It covers so much of the ground and are so important to our culture and necessary for the way we live.
